Christmas 2007

I hope that everyone had an awesome CHRISTmas! The word Christmas literally means "worship Christ." The word "mas" means worship...that is where we get the word "mass" in English. Remember that Jesus is the reason for the season. It is through Him that we have hope, peace, joy, and all of the other things we talk about and sing about at Christmas...yet some people want to use only the words Happy Holidays, Seasons Greetings, etc. Be one of those who stands up for Christ and what He did for us..not only at this time of year, but all the time. Here are some pics from our Christmas.

Recent Festivities

I hope someone is reading this b/c I am having fun writing it!!! Here are some recent events...with pictures!!!

My sister's kids, Zach (11) and Kelsey (6) spent the night last night. We had lots of fun. Here they are..Kelsey is wearing my new polka-dot apron...thanks Nora for the wonderful gift! How cute is that apron?!?! We made snowman cookies and decorated sugar cookies. Kim and Joseph came over too...we all went to eat at Cane's and the kids had a blast. Joseph was definitely our entertainment.

We covered Nutter Butters with white chocolate and then decorated them. They didn't turn out exactly like they were supposed to b/c I didn't put the Crisco in the chocolate...oh well!!!

My babies!!! I have to live vicariously through other people's kids. It's great b/c we can have fun and I can give them back to their parents ....haha!!!

My friend Lesley is leaving in about a week to live in South Africa for 3 years to do HIV/Aids education. One of her lasts requests was the eat fondue at The Melting Pot. Here she is with her parents. It was great food and great fun. We will miss her!!

For our class Christmas party, we made Christmas trees out of sugar cones, icing and lots and lots of candies. The kids loved it, and most of them turned out so cute. Of course, they were sugared up and drove me up the wall, but I was able to send them home to their parents shortly after..haha!

Our friends, from China, John and Jennifer came to visit. We had an awesome time catching up! We wish they could have stayed longer, but we were glad we got to see them...it had been 3 years!
Joseph is 3!! My best friend, Kim's, little boy is not so little anymore! He is so cute, and so much fun. His grandmother made his cake..he loves fire trucks and firemen. It was precious!

DARE Graduation
Here is my class on the way to DARE graduation. A deputy from the Constable's office came to our class once a week for an hour and talked to the kids about staying away from drugs and alcohol. It is an awesome program and the kids loved it! They had to write an essay about what they learned in order to graduate.

Oops

I posted them in the wrong order..oops...I am a slow learner. This is fun!

My costume

Just to give you a closer look at my "get up"-The teachers had to dress up as a letter of the alphabet..and of course I get "Y." My students know I LOVE pink and I tell them that I am the princess of the hall...so I had to incorporate Pink and Princess...so I came up with Young Pink Princess. Not very creative, I know...but since I will be the big 30 on my next birthday I figured I better call myself young as much as I can in the next 9 months...haha!! We had an alphabet parade of all of the teachers dressed up and it was very cute.

Well, I have decided to enter into the world of blogging. I have so much fun keeping up with friends through blogs and websites, so I thought I would give it a whirl! Of course, my life is not as exciting as some of theirs, especially those living overseas. But, this is my life for now. I can't promise frequent updates, but I'll try my best!
